Avery and Brian's latest accomplishments

Wow, we have had an exciting week! Last weekend, Avery was at Grandma and Grandpa's spending some quality time together when I called to check up on her, she was starting to get a fever. After talking to her Pediatrician and going to the Pediatric Urgent Care, it turns out Avery was not only sick for the first time, but she had Strep! Completely rare for children under the age of 2! She has been great though. You would have never known the girl was sick about 10 minutes after they gave her Children's Motrin to reduce her fever. She even takes her antibiotics really well. So, after a few days off of swimming lessons, we started back last Thursday. I jokingly said Avery should get sick more often. In 10 minutes, she finally learned to roll over by herself once she was placed face down in the water so she would be face up! Luckily, Grandma and Grandpa were planning on coming to her lesson on Friday to see her accomplishments. Below are a sequence of pictures of Avery turning over on her own that Grandma took at Avery's Friday lesson! Today, the Instructor challenged her even more by placing her in water from different places in the pool (the stairs, the elevated wall, and even gently flipping her over like a back flip) and she did GREAT! We are so super proud of her!

As for Brian, many of you have probably heard us talking about Rebounderz. Rebounderz Planet Jump, as the advertising says, is "where FUN, FAMILY, & FITNESS come together with a whole NEW bounce!" Brian was apart of a group of investors that created an 11,000 sq foot trampoline area for people to bounce around and literally even bounce off the walls! It looks so much fun and has been doing really well. This past Friday they had their Grand Opening in Longwood. There were so many people there, even local government officials - some of which never go to these types of things! We are really excited about this opportunity and can't wait to start designing some more for future investors! Check out their website at http://www.rebounderz.com/ & see some video's of people jumping. They even have party rooms, so when Avery is older we know where her parties will be. :) Below are a few pictures that Brian's mom took at the Grand Opening.

10 week appt and Avery is 9 months old!

I know it's been a week since my appt, but things have been alittle crazy around here! I taught traffic school the weekend following our appt and then Brian, Avery and I drove to Atlanta to visit my amazing friend Jill and her husband. Hope you guys had a GREAT 4th wedding Anniversary! ;) Anyway, after we left there, we drove to Tampa for the holiday weekend with my mom. It was a nice weekend since my mom got to spend more time than usual with Avery.

My appointment went well. The ultrasound measurements said I am actually not as far along as we originally thought - about a week off. No biggy because now the official estimated due date is January 20th!! And for those of you that don't know the significance of that date, it's my Mom's birthday!! Talk about an EXTREMELY excited Grandmother (or Nana as she is going to be called unless Avery comes up with something different.)!! So, other than that, Baby looks good. It looks like we have another wiggler on our hands. The Baby was doing flips as our Dr. was making sure there was only one heart beat. LOL - I think Brian was going to pass out if there were more than one! When Brian and I were in the exam room with the Dr., I mentioned how Brian was freaking out about the possibilities of having multiples. So when we were in the ultrasound room, the Dr made a big deal out of finding another heart beat. It was too funny watching Brian! My aunt had asked why I thought it might be multiples. I told her no reason, just that her daughter and someone else on my dad's side had been blessed with them. The only thing was I was already showing at 10 weeks where I hadn't until around 17 wks with Avery. But, honestly, my body was still adjusting from Avery, so showing this early didn't surprise me. Haha, she said the last time she heard "I can't believe I am showing already" was when my cousin was pregnant with the twins! So, to answer your possible question, yes, there is only one heart beat. ;)

As for Avery, she started back to swim lessons this week, but we have to cut them short. Apparently when baby's are teething, their equilibrium can be off. In her lesson today, she kept drinking water and wasn't sure what to do when the Instructor would put her under water whereas yesterday she was doing great! It looks like she is getting her top front tooth. So, we will resume class on Monday.

Avery's first 4th went fine. I can't believe she turned 9 months old!! It's so hard to comprehend that I have a daughter who is crawling like crazy, standing for seconds on her own, feeding herself finger foods, and starting to talk some. Crazy! Anyhow, our plans for the 4th were to go to the Brandon 4th of July parade, but Nana, Avery and I were not ready by the time we had to leave, so we decided to chill and later go to Walmart for some baby food. The picture above is Avery eating her "baby toast" with her "All American Girl" shirt and a blue jean skirt on. That night it was raining, so we didn't get to see many fireworks other than the ones on TV. And by that point, Avery had passed out in my arms after every attempt to keep her awake! Oh well, maybe next year. :)

Hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July!
