Kylee's 1 month appt

Kylee had her 1 month appt yesterday. Apparently, she is not having a problem eating like Avery did. Kylee gained 2 lbs in 2 weeks - Miss Piggy! She is now 21 1/4" and 9lbs 13.2 ozs. She is even taking the bottle really well, though we have only done it a couple of times. As for sleeping, she is getting better about waking up for two feedings and going right back to sleep. I have to admit, sometimes I fall asleep during the feeding and wake up at the next one. ;) I have a feeling Kylee is going to be my snuggly one. Today, all she wanted to do was cuddle in order to fall asleep. I know this will bite me later on, but I am going to enjoy it as long as I can.

Avery update

The last few days, we have been trying to let Avery feed herself everything. I knew I had to let her do this eventually, but I was dreading the clean up (and so was Sarah). Today, Sarah let her try oatmeal and squash by herself. Below are the pictures of the squash. Can you tell she had fun?



The other day we were playing outside in the back yard. Avery was running after Angel and this is the picture I got. I call it her modeling picture!

We have also been trying to get her to talk. Currently, she will say the beginnings of words, like "ba" for banana, and "pa" for pacifier, but not much more. I guess she is a one syllable kind of girl! She is also getting 3 of her molars, which brings the count to around 15 teeth.

She is starting to like reading again. For awhile, she was just too busy for any books. She loves for her Aunt Sarah to read Dr Seuss. Sometimes she will sit while Sarah reads the entire book, and other times she plays with other toys, but is definitely listening.

Kylee

I know it has been awhile since I have posted, but what do you expect with a 16 month old and 4 week old! ;)

So far, all is going well. Kylee gained back her birth weight and more at her 2 week appt (she was 7lbs 13 ozs) Feb 2nd, so nursing is much better with her than it was with Avery. Kylee is also sleeping well, but she has her nights. She atleast wakes up once for a feeding. Though some nights, she loves to just cry and get her energy out from midnight until 4am. That, and she refuses to sleep in the bassinet or co-sleeper for our bed. She wants to cuddle up to Mom - so, at this point I am not complaining. In the next few weeks, my goal is to get the "guest" bed toddler-proofed for Avery so she can sleep in the bed while I get Kylee accustomed to sleeping on her own in the crib during nap time.

Avery is adjusting well to her little sister. She has not shown any indication of jealousy. In fact, she always wants to know where Kylee is and will go give her kisses and hugs. I wish I could get more on camera, but Miss Avery is constantly on the move! Here are some pictures - enjoy as always. :)
